Join us for an engaging morning of learning how to navigate those changes in a way that creates energy and growth. We will explore how you participate in your own journey and how you can support yourself, no matter what change is engaging you in the present. TOWARDS EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN VICTORIES: COLOR OF FEAR FILM SCREENING

All men who have attended a Victories weekend are invited to attend this special film screening of the 1994 documentary Color of Fear. This documentary follows a circle of men as they unpack privilege, power, and racism. Their conversations give us a chance as a community to look at ourselves and our own personal and organizational values. Talking about bias, prejudice, privilege, and racism is difficult and uncomfortable, and we ask you to step into the discomfort by watching this film together and sitting in circle with your fellow Victories alumni. We invite you to come out to learn and listen.

DEEPENING WORK WITH MEN IN THERAPY: A CEU WORKSHOP

Historically, men have been less frequent consumers of mental health services than women. Join Dr. Bricker and Dr. Volden as they give an overview of some of the gender differences that may influence men’s pursuit of (or avoidance of) psychotherapy and counseling. After the presentation, there will be time for questions and comments, followed by socializing, networking, and refreshments.

ANCHORING TO CORE INTENTION: SUPERCHARGE YOUR ‘WHY’

We’ve all heard about the importance of our “why”—our higher purpose, our core intention. When connected to your core intention in a visceral way, what you thought you “ought” to do (but couldn’t quite grasp) becomes something you can touch, feel, and experience. Core Intention viscerally connects us to our gifts and calling in a way that resonates in heart, body, and spirit (not just the head). This experiential workshop will help you reconnect to your own core intention, which creates energy for the hard work of transformation. Open to men and women.

LIVING AN EXAMINED LIFE: AN EVENING WITH JAMES HOLLIS

Join us for this special evening presentation by James Hollis, as he talks about his most recent book, Living an Examined Life. A consequence of the necessary adaptations we make to the demands of family, the world around us, and the imbedded messages we carry, causes each of us to get separated from our own truth, our personal authority. Initially accountable to the world around us, we adapt, repress, leave behind some of our best parts. This presentation will identify some of the issues, and the tasks they raise for us, in living an examined life. This event is open to all.
This event happened on April 5, 2019.

Volunteering for Victories helps me help other men. Staffing offers me a sense of value and accomplishment. It offers me an outlet to help others in a way I never imagined possible, giving me an opportunity to give back.
