Meet other men and learn new skills to bring back to your group. Some programs may be required for weekend staffing and leadership.
This full day training reviews the structure of the weekend, provides instruction in leading small groups, and teaches you the importance of the small group to the weekend. Required to staff a Wisdom Years Weekend.
This full day training illustrates what makes a successful group, how to remove blocks to connection, and what exercises and methods can help create deep, powerful groups. Required to become a PGG Assistant Leader.
The PGG Marketplace is an opportunity for Victories alumni to get together and meet likeminded men. All groups that have expressed an interest in enhancing their numbers, or merging with another group are invited to come out and meet potential new members. Send at least one group representative. All men who want to get into a group again are invited to come meet groups and other men. New groups may be formed!
Victories Round Table events are special presentations that are hosted throughout the year highlighting topics to further help you along your path. There is usually an expert who will present followed by small-group and open discussions. Our intention is to provide thoughtful discussion that will help you in connect to yourself and others more effectively.
NEW EVENTS WILL BE HAPPENING SOON!
All men who have attended a Victories weekend are invited to attend this special film screening of the 1994 documentary Color of Fear. This documentary follows a circle of men as they unpack privilege, power, and racism. Their conversations give us a chance as a community to look at ourselves and our own personal and organizational values. Talking about bias, prejudice, privilege, and racism is difficult and uncomfortable, and we ask you to step into the discomfort by watching this film together and sitting in circle with your fellow Victories alumni. We invite you to come out to learn and listen.
Historically, men have been less frequent consumers of mental health services than women. Join Dr. Bricker and Dr. Volden as they give an overview of some of the gender differences that may influence men’s pursuit of (or avoidance of) psychotherapy and counseling. After the presentation, there will be time for questions and comments, followed by socializing, networking, and refreshments.
We’ve all heard about the importance of our “why”—our higher purpose, our core intention. When connected to your core intention in a visceral way, what you thought you “ought” to do (but couldn’t quite grasp) becomes something you can touch, feel, and experience. Core Intention viscerally connects us to our gifts and calling in a way that resonates in heart, body, and spirit (not just the head). This experiential workshop will help you reconnect to your own core intention, which creates energy for the hard work of transformation. Open to men and women.
Victories’ weekend programs initiate new awareness for the participants, with Personal Growth Groups (PGG) building upon that awareness and promoting ongoing personal development. The initial energy that follows the weekend experience has a tendency to wane, resulting in lower attendance and willingness to participate. The pandemic created a shift to virtual meetings, which may have further reduced group energy. This workshop introduces ways that can re-energize your PGG and sustain active connections with your brothers.
You will:
• Learn “group killers” that impair the effectiveness of a PGG.
• Hear from men about what works to re-kindle their group’s energy and enhance its cohesion.
• Explore how national events, such as the social justice movement, intersect a PGG and its authenticity.
