Round Table 04/27/2024 – Finding, Forming, and Feeding Men’s Friendships

April 27 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

$20.00

Since its inception in 1985, Victories has assisted thousands of men in learning more about themselves and strengthening their connections to themselves and others. Recently, the popular media have described men in this culture as experiencing considerable social isolation and loneliness. This sense of disconnection often generates problems in both mental and physical health.

In this Round Table, the co-presenters describe the benefits of male friendships as well as ways to develop and enhance such relationships. In small groups, participants are given the opportunity to discuss their own friendships with men and how these relationships have offered peer support and ongoing personal growth.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognition of cultural patterns that may block men from becoming friends with other men.
  • Increased understanding of the benefits of male friendship.
  • Awareness of the steps that can be taken to form and deepen these relationships

Presenters: Kevin FitzPatrick, LCSW and Paul Kachoris, MD have been friends for nearly 40 years and have given numerous presentations on the topic of male friendship at events such as the international Men’s Conference in Austin, Texas and several Chicago Men’s conferences. They have been the keynote speakers on the topic at one of Oakton Community College’s Men’s Days.

This event will be held on Saturday.
