(Dialectical Behavior Therapy) has become popular in recent years due to its focus on developing skills around emotional regulation. DBT is also effective in helping with mindfulness, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. In our conversation long-time DBT teacher (and student) Mark Driscoll from Northwestern Family Institute talks about how DBT has affected his life, his patients’ lives and how it can supplement traditional talk-therapy.
