BUDDY PORTUGAL FUND TO ASSURE THE FUTURE OF VICTORIES

In November of 2011 the Victories Board of Directors created  the "Buddy Portugal Fund To Assure The Future Of Victories." The purpose of this fund is to honor the memory of our co-founder and beloved friend, Buddy Portugal, by providing the support necessary to preserve and grow our programs well into the future. Victories relies heavily on the generosity of its unpaid volunteers to achieve its mission. We have reached the point where those resources are no longer  sufficient to build the type of organization that Buddy and Bob Mark dreamed of 27 years ago. Victories can be rightly proud of its transformative impact on thousands of men and their families.  It's time for us to broaden our reach and this can only happen if we are able to hire a professional executive director and provide that person with necessary tools to move us forward - all the while preserving our commitment to offering men the opportunity to attend weekends regardless of their ability to pay.

We are also delighted that Layna Portugal has made a multi-year, leadership donation to the Fund in recognition of her husband's dedication to Victories and passion for our work. Layna has asked us to pass along her request that as many of you as possible join her in helping bring Victories to the next level. We are most grateful to her and, of course, to our friend and brother, Buddy.

Layna and her family were honored at the November 18, 2011 Fundraiser featuring the Second City performance troupe.

Help us ensure a bright future for Victories by sending your contributions to address below or by donating online.  Checks should be made payable to "Victories of the Heart, NFP"
