The aim of the training is to provide Victories Leaders and Staff the information they need in case of a crisis arising on weekends or in groups. While Victories does its best to screen the weekend participants, crisis situations may arise for which Leaders and Staff must be prepared.

This crisis management presentation will teach skills and techniques to utilize in the presence of a psychiatric emergency. The focus will be on learning how to assess for symptoms, provide appropriate interventions, and link the individuals that you may encounter in crisis to resources that will provide additional support.

The training will be provided by mental health professionals, experienced in crisis and emergency work, who train and coordinate the Emergency Services Team at Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center in Skokie. Turning Point is one of the leading community mental health centers in the Chicago area.

Victories and the Turning Point Trainers will welcome examples of concerns from your own experience on our weekend and group programs.

This training is required for all Victories Weekend and Groups Leaders and highly recommended for Staff.
